One of the most common questions real estate agents and property developers around the world receive is about the proximity of good schools and educational establishments near to the property being purchased.

Both locally and international it is accepted that the proximity to quality educational institutions is one of the prime motivating factors behind property purchase. In this two-part post we will take a look at the top 6 international schools Ghana.

Lincoln community school (Accra)

The Lincoln Community School) is a private, non-profit, college preparatory day school situated in Accra. It offers educational programs for Pre-Kindergarten (age 4) through to grade 12 students. The school is accredited with the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools in the United States and by the Council of International Schools (CIS) as such it follows and American curriculum with an emphasis on inquiry and problem solving.

Ecole Francaise (East Legon)

The LFA (French school, Accra) is part of the French network of institutions managed by the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad). The school provides education from kindergarten to the final level of high school. Language practice development is at the core of the school mission. As such the school boasts a bilingual program (teaching half in French, the other half in English) and a bilingual education (Spanish, English).

Ghana International school

Ghana International School (GIS) is one of Ghana’s leading international schools providing world class holistic education to children between the ages of 3 years and 18 years. GIS offers a curriculum modelled along the English National Curriculum and Cambridge International Examinations, IGCSE and GCE Advanced level with English as the medium of instruction. The school is accredited by both the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The school is also an active member of the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA).
