Decorating your main bedroom can be a bit of a struggle, especially when you don’t know where to start and you are considering both parties. Begin with colours and patterns you want to incorporate into your bedroom décor.
COLOURS AND PATTERNS
Sticking to one light colour is something to consider, but play around with your pastel colours, bring in some bolder colours to create contrast and compliment the lights. Top it off with some modern yet simple designs and patterns to suit your liking.
Scout for a unique yet stylish headboard. Cherry wood furnished with a great varnish is something to consider as it is elegant and sophisticated. Be creative, it’s your space, so make it your own and find a headboard that works for you.
Layering is key to a beautiful bed. It gives your space an instantly glamorous upgrade, plus you’ll be beyond cozy in the winter time.
DON’T OVERLOOK THE CEILING
The ceiling is the fifth wall in a room. When you lie in bed, do you see a bland, blank surface? Add a subtle pattern or soft colour. Paint the ceiling a slightly lighter version of the wall. It will help to visually lower the ceiling and give the space a feeling of comfort and intimacy.
KEEP IT SIMPLE
A bedroom should look cozy and simple, sophisticated, and elegant, regardless of what style of decorating you choose. For ease of movement, leave a minimum of three feet between the bed and side walls or large pieces of furniture and at least two feet between the bed and low furniture like tables and dressers.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT SIZE FURNITURE
Once you have bought your furniture start out with a floor plan and a measured drawing of the space. Don’t choose a heavy, large bed and dresser for a small bedroom. If the ceiling is high, a tall headboard will help to visibly bring it down to size.
